Our new neighborhood has some perks. Among the great neighbors, swimming pool, and park, there is also: neighborhood covenants. Strict ones. My favorite says that Christmas lights must be down by the end of January. What's that you hear? Yes, that is the sound of angels singing.

The CC&Rs are great IF they enforce them. We've lived in our neighborhood over 3 years now. At first we were diligent about the street tree plan, fences, no parking on street, no garbages within view, etc. until we realized they don't care and don't follow-up on the violations we report. Takes some of the fun out of it. . .
Oh I love it!! I have to have out lights down early, too. Otherwise it becomes less and less magical and more and more annoying!! :) I hope you are enjoying your beautiful new home so much!!
